Online Consultations

Our online consultation system is available Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm to let us know about your health requirements. Your message is checked by a GP and our clinical teams and we will contact you by the end of the next working day. Online consultations are secure, speedy and get you the care and advice you need.


LIVI Video Consultations
With Livi, all patients of this practice can now see a GP by video through the NHS. Get a same-day video GP appointment – without leaving home for medical advice, prescriptions and referrals. You can drop in and see the next available GP, or book up to 7 days ahead. Livi’s registered GPs have access to your medical records so you can get in-depth advice – from the comfort of your home.


Livi’s GPs are available seven days a week, even on early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Monday–Friday, 7am–10pm  |  Saturday & Sunday, 8am–4pm


You can access Livi in three simple steps


  1. Download Livi from the App Store or Google Play. It works on your mobile or tablet.

  2. Sign up and search for Portugal Place Health Centre in the app.

  3. You’re ready to go.



The NHS app give offers access to a range of medical advice and the ability to send us an online consultation or book an appointment online. 


Other Ways to Make Appointments
You can still book appointments with our GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, mental health support team, first contact physiotherapist and all of our other clinical teams by calling us on 0191 2625252.


If you are unable to attend your appointment please let us know as soon as you can.

We offer a text reminder service which many patients find helpful and offers you the option to cancel by text. 

Alternatively you can call us on 0191 2625252 to let us know that you are unable to attend.

You can also cancel some appointments using the NHS App.
